Reaching the Heart of Readers
Besides her New York Times bestselling books, Lysa TerKeurst is known for her ability to come alongside readers and articulate their needs and fears—and point them to Jesus—in her writing and speaking. In both nonfiction and fiction, a compelling topic or story always comes first, but the characters and themes have to resonate with the deepest heart needs of readers to make a lasting impact. Lysa’s insights will help publishers and authors find new ways to communicate biblical truth and craft stories that connect with readers as well as giving publishing teams guidance for knowing how to find and develop life-changing manuscripts.

About Lysa TerKeurst
Lysa TerKeurst is president of Proverbs 31 Ministries and the #1 New York Times’ best-selling author of Uninvited, It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way, The Best Yes, Unglued, Made to Crave, and 17 other books. “Next-Level” Writing
Going beyond the basics of craft instruction, writing coach and multi-Christy-award winning author Jim Rubart will share secrets for adding depth and emotional impact when writing and editing your novel. This is for the longtime writer who wants to get better with every new release rather than maintaining the status quo—and for the aspiring writers who want to know what it takes to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

About James Rubart
James L. Rubart is 28 years old, but lives trapped inside an older man’s body. He thinks he’s still young enough to water ski like a madman and dirt bike with his two grown sons. He’s the best-selling, Christy BOOK of the YEAR, CAROL, INSPY, and RT Book Reviews award winning author of ten novels and loves to send readers on journeys they’ll remember months after they finish his stories. He’s also a branding expert, audio book narrator, co-host of the Novel Marketing podcast, and co-founder with his son, Taylor, of the Rubart Writing Academy. He lives with his amazing wife on a small lake in Washington state.

“There are issues that everyone on the world of Christian fiction cares about, but for the most part, aspiring writers, established authors, editors, marketers, agents, and other professionals discuss these issues in their own small groups. What I love about the Art of Writing conference is that it enables all of us to gather together in person and have conversations about big picture issues in the industry. We can learn so much from others’ unique perspectives.”

What we believe

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose Indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
